A Brontë a Day – Day 3: Angria & Gondal

One area of Brontëdom that I’ve never known too much about is their early childhood writing in Angria and Gondal and to that end, I’ve set myself a reading list:

I’ve heard good things about the Oxford World Classics edition of the Juvenilia so am going to give that a try:
But I’ve also got Isabel Greenberg’s beautiful graphic novel Glass Town – I saved up my Christmas book voucher to get this as it first caught my attention a while ago. I have very little experience of graphic novels so this has been a whole new frontier!
Lastly, I have Celia Rees’ YA novel Glass Town Wars for some lighter relief. I was a big fan of Celia Rees when I was a teenager and very interested to see her take on the Brontë mythology.
Does anyone have any other recommended reads for investigating Angria and Gondal any further? 😊
I agreed to participate in the #ABrontëADay Challenge during May for the A Walk Around the Brontë Table Facebook group. I will also be sharing posts on my Instagram feed.
